The Woman in the Dunes

Original interpretation of the famous novel by Kobo Abe based on miscellaneous interrelations between the text and plastic expression. The story of pain and faith put on in the experimental theatre way.

The text and plastic expression creates new interrelations that influence the structure of the play making it dynamic and expressive. I am fascinated when something that I can’t express in words I move onto another plane and suddenly receive that particular reaction from the viewer. It is like the act of magic happening in front of your eyes. I refuse to be titled as “movement theatre”; I am just trying to do something that I haven’t done before and to figure out what has the strongest impact in a play – word or movement.
